Efficacy of venetoclax combined with homoharringtonine and cytarabine for younger adults with newly diagnosed AML
This retrospective study assessed the efficacy and safety of the venetoclax-homoharringtonine-cytarabine (VHA) regimen in 55 patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia. The overall response rate was 92.7%, with a composite complete remission rate of 87.3%, and 85.4% of patients achieving MRD-negative complete remission. In the adverse-risk subgroup, response rates remained high, with manageable toxicity—main grade 3–4 adverse events being febrile neutropenia, pneumonia, and sepsis. The VHA regimen showed promising survival outcomes, with a median overall survival of 26 months and a one-year overall survival of 83%, indicating strong potential for further investigation.
