A year ago, we created the website www.howitreat.in/hematology with the aim of helping resident doctors in India who work in hematology departments. Initially, the website focused on providing essential information for their daily work. However, over the past year, we've noticed that users from countries outside of India have also been using our website. Additionally, advanced Western treatments, such as CAR-T cell therapy, have become available in India. We've also realized the importance of ensuring that residents who rely on our website can easily pass their exams. Therefore, we have decided to include all the latest international guidelines and protocols on our website, in addition to the essential day-to-day work related information. Most of the topics on the website have already been updated to reflect these changes, and we will continue to update them regularly.

Surprisingly, our website has gained a substantial user base without any formal promotion to medical colleges or healthcare institutions. Google Analytics shows that 2,570 users from 51 countries have visited our website. We are especially encouraged by the 121 hematology enthusiasts who have subscribed to our daily messages. It's possible that many doctors are unaware of the existence of such a helpful resource, so we plan to send introductory emails to all medical colleges and healthcare institutions offering DM/DNB programs in Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Last year, we added patient information sheets in both Kannada and English to our website. Informed patients are less likely to have conflicts with their doctors, which is especially important given the high workload doctors often face. We are also working on translating these articles into various other Indian languages.

Recognizing the challenges doctors in remote areas face in obtaining necessary medications for their patients, we have included a "Pharma Connect" section. This section provides details about various hematology products by different companies, along with contact information. In the coming year, we plan to gather details from most pharmaceutical companies and include them on our website.

howitreat.in/hematology is just a prototype for other sections of a larger website that will cover all medical subspecialties. However, such an extensive project cannot be completed by a single person. If we can assemble a team of about 10 doctors willing to dedicate around 20 hours per month, we believe we can accomplish this within a few years. We'll see how things progress.
